QR Code for Your Domain

Printable QR code that opens your site.

How it works

Make a printable QR code that opens your domain

Type the address you want people to land on and get a crisp SVG QR code you can drop into a flyer, business card, menu or shop window. The code is generated right here in your browser with proper Reed–Solomon error correction, so it keeps scanning when printed small or slightly smudged. We also check that the domain actually resolves, because a QR code pointing at a dead site is the most common mistake we see.

How this works

  1. 1

    Normalise the URL

We add https:// if it is missing, validate the host and confirm it resolves in DNS.

  2. 2

    Encode in your browser

Byte-mode QR with Reed–Solomon error correction and the best mask pattern is computed locally; nothing is uploaded.

  3. 3

    Export as SVG

You get vector markup plus a data URL, so the code stays sharp at any print size.

Frequently asked questions

Which error-correction level should I choose for a printed QR code?
Level M (about 15% recovery) is the sensible default for flyers, menus and packaging because it survives scuffs and poor lighting. Use L only when you need the smallest possible code and it will be displayed on a screen rather than printed.
How big should a QR code be printed?
A good rule is one tenth of the scanning distance: a code scanned from 30 cm should be at least 3 cm wide. Shorter URLs produce lower-version codes with bigger modules, which scan more reliably at small sizes.
Can I change where the QR code points after printing?
Not the code itself: the URL is baked into the pattern. The fix is to encode a short path on your own domain, such as example.com/qr, and change the redirect behind it whenever you like.
Why does my QR code look different from another generator's?
Two valid codes for the same text can differ because generators pick different mask patterns or error-correction levels. Both scan to the same URL; what matters is the decoded text, not the picture.
Does this QR code generator track scans or expire?
No. The code is generated entirely in your browser and contains only your URL, so it never expires and nobody sits in the middle. If you want scan counts, add UTM parameters or use a redirect path you can measure.
