BIMI Record Checker

Is your logo record published and valid?

How it works

BIMI checker: is your logo record published, valid and backed by DMARC?

BIMI puts your brand logo next to your messages in Gmail, Yahoo and Apple Mail, but only when every prerequisite lines up. We look up default._bimi.yourdomain over live DNS, validate the v=BIMI1 record and its l= (logo) and a= (certificate) URLs, fetch the logo to confirm it is served over HTTPS as SVG, and check that your DMARC policy is at quarantine or reject with pct=100, which mailbox providers insist on before showing any logo.

How this works

  1. 1

    Look up the BIMI TXT

selector._bimi.domain is fetched live and the v=BIMI1 record is parsed into l= and a= tags.

  2. 2

    Fetch the logo and certificate

A server-side request confirms each URL is HTTPS, returns 200 and serves an SVG or PEM.

  3. 3

    Verify DMARC enforcement

Your _dmarc record is checked for quarantine or reject at pct=100, which every provider requires.

Frequently asked questions

What is BIMI?
Brand Indicators for Message Identification lets mailbox providers show your verified logo beside your messages. It rewards domains that have fully deployed DMARC and publish a specially formatted SVG logo.
Why does my BIMI logo not show in Gmail?
Gmail requires a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate in the a= tag, DMARC at quarantine or reject, and good sending reputation. Yahoo shows logos without a certificate, Gmail does not.
What format must the BIMI logo be?
SVG Tiny Portable/Secure (SVG P/S): square, solid background, no scripts or external references, baseProfile="tiny-ps", a <title> element, and ideally under 32 KB, served over HTTPS.
Do I need a VMC to use BIMI?
Not for Yahoo, AOL or Fastmail. For Gmail and Apple Mail you need a VMC (requires a registered trademark) or the newer Common Mark Certificate (requires 12 months of prior logo use).
Does BIMI improve deliverability?
Not directly, but the DMARC enforcement it requires does, and visible logos measurably increase open rates. Treat it as the finishing step after SPF, DKIM and DMARC are solid.
