Transfer From a Nigerian Registrar Finder
Steps for Whogohost, Qservers, Garanntor and others.
How it works
Exact steps to move a domain out of a Nigerian registrar
Pick your current registrar and get the precise menu path to unlock the domain and copy the EPP/auth code, the two things every transfer needs. Add the domain and we run a live RDAP and DNS check for transfer locks, recent registration, expiry and the registrar on record. For .ng and .com.ng names we explain the NiRA process, which differs from the ICANN rules that govern .com: there is no 60-day lock and the losing registrar has five days to object.

How this works
- 1
Match your registrar
We map the registrar you pick to the exact client-area path for unlocking and requesting the EPP code.
- 2
Check the registry live
If you give a domain, RDAP and DNS are queried for transfer locks, registration date, expiry and nameservers.
- 3
Apply the right policy
NiRA rules are shown for .ng names and ICANN rules for .com, .net and other gTLDs, with our live transfer price.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I get the EPP code from Whogohost or GO54?
- Log in to the GO54 client area, open Domains → My Domains, click the domain and choose Get EPP Code in the left menu. Disable the Registrar Lock on the same page first; the code is shown on screen and emailed to the registrant address.
- Can I transfer a .com.ng domain to another registrar?
- Yes. .ng and .com.ng transfers follow NiRA policy: unlock the domain, get the auth code from your current registrar, and start the transfer at the new one. The losing registrar has five days to object; otherwise it is approved automatically and a year is added.
- Does the 60-day transfer lock apply to .ng domains?
- No. The 60-day lock after registration or a contact change is an ICANN rule for gTLDs such as .com and .org. NiRA does not impose it, so a newly registered .com.ng can be moved as soon as you have the auth code.
- My registrar does not show a Get EPP Code button. What now?
- You are probably with a reseller who manages domains through an upstream registrar. Open a ticket asking them to unlock the domain and send the EPP code to the registrant email; they are obliged to provide it. If they refuse, the registry (NiRA for .ng, ICANN for .com) has a complaint process.
- Will my website or email go down during the transfer?
- Not if you leave the nameservers alone. A transfer changes which registrar bills you, not where the DNS points, so the site and mailboxes keep working. Change DNS only after the transfer completes.
Every MailShrine domain includes WHOIS privacy, transfer lock, Anycast DNS with DNSSEC and two business mailboxes.
