African Extensions Checker (.co.za, .co.ke, .com.gh, .africa)

Availability and price across African country codes.

How it works

Check one name across 14 African extensions, with live prices

Enter a brand name and we check it live on every African country-code extension MailShrine sells, including .ng, .com.ng, .co.za, .co.ke, .com.gh and the pan-African .africa, with first-year and renewal prices in USD and Naira. Extensions we do not sell yet, such as .rw, .ma or .co.tz, are listed with the registry that runs them so you know where to go. One registry round trip per extension, no account needed.

How this works

  1. 1

    Load the live price list

We fetch MailShrine's current extensions and split the 14 African candidates into ones we sell and ones we do not.

  2. 2

    Check the registry for each

Every sold extension is queried live through our registrar connection in parallel, one round trip each.

  3. 3

    Show prices and registries

Sold extensions get first-year and renewal prices; the rest are listed with the registry that runs them.

Frequently asked questions

Which African domain extensions can I buy on MailShrine?
Currently .ng, .com.ng, .co.za, .co.ke, .ke, .com.gh and the pan-African .africa, all priced live in USD and Naira. This tool reads the live list, so new extensions appear here the day we add them.
Do I need a local company to register .co.za or .co.ke?
No. .co.za (ZACR) and .co.ke (KeNIC) are open to registrants anywhere in the world, as are .ng, .com.ng, .com.gh and .africa. A few extensions we do not sell, such as .et, still expect a local contact.
Is .africa a good alternative to a country code?
.africa works well as an umbrella for companies that sell in several countries, and it is one of the cheapest extensions on our list. Most businesses pair it with the country code of their home market rather than replacing it.
Why is .com.gh so much more expensive than .co.za?
Each registry sets its own wholesale fee. Ghana's registry charges a high annual fee and processes registrations manually, while ZACR runs .co.za at scale and keeps it cheap. The price shown is what you actually pay, with the renewal beside it.
Can I check .rw, .ma or .co.tz availability here?
Not yet. We list them with the registry that runs each one so you know where to register, and the moment they join our price list this tool will check them live too. You can still use a MailShrine domain for email and point a .rw site at it.

Every MailShrine domain includes WHOIS privacy, transfer lock, Anycast DNS with DNSSEC and two business mailboxes.
