Domain Availability Checker
Check if a name is free on .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai and 150 more.
How it works
One name, every extension, live from the registry
Type a name with or without an extension. We check it against the registry on .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai, .co, .ng and 150 more in one pass, show the first-year price and the renewal price, flag first-year promotions, and surface names their owners have listed for sale. Nothing is cached and no account is needed. Add what you like to your cart and the two free business mailboxes are set up the moment you register.
Results appear here after you click Check availability.
How the check works
- 1
Registry lookup
Your name is sent to our registrar connection, which asks each registry whether the label is free. Taken names come back as taken, not guessed from a cache.
- 2
Price in two numbers
We attach the first-year price and the renewal price from our live price feed, with promotions marked so year two never surprises you.
- 3
For-sale listings
If the exact name is taken but its owner listed it on Sedo or Afternic, we show that price too. Buy Now up to our cap; above it our team arranges it.
Frequently asked questions
- How accurate is the availability check?
- Each name is checked live against the registry through our registrar connection, not a cached list. A name shown as available can still be taken by someone else before you register it, which is why checkout re-checks it.
- Why does a name show 'For sale' instead of 'Taken'?
- Its owner has listed it at a fixed price on an aftermarket such as Sedo or Afternic. We show the price and can buy it for you; delivery is a transfer from the current owner rather than a new registration.
- What does 'Renews at' mean?
- The price you pay every year after the first. First-year promotions are real, but the renewal price is what the domain costs you long term, so we show both.
- Do I need an account to check names?
- No. Searching is free and anonymous. You only sign in when you check out, and the two business mailboxes that come with every domain are set up right after.
- Can I check several names at once?
- This tool checks one name across every extension we sell. The Bulk Domain Checker in the same category takes a list of up to 100 names.
