How to Verify Business Email DNS on Namecheap, Cloudflare & GoDaddy
MailShrine shows the records; your registrar or DNS host is where you paste them. This guide covers the three panels founders hit most — without touching website A/CNAME rows (domain vs hosting).
Real-life example: Patio Supply
Ife’s domain was at Namecheap but DNS pointed at Cloudflare. Editing Namecheap Advanced DNS did nothing. She switched to Cloudflare DNS and verification went green.
Always edit DNS where nameservers point.
Universal checklist
- Copy records from MailShrine Domains.
- Remove conflicting old MX / duplicate SPF.
- Save → start MailShrine verification.
- Wait for TTL (timing).
- Round-trip test.
Deep theory: MX · SPF · DKIM · DMARC.
Cloudflare
| Tip | Detail |
|---|---|
| Panel | DNS → Records |
| Proxy | Mail records DNS only (grey cloud) |
| SPF | One TXT; merge includes |
| DKIM | Host = full selector MailShrine shows |
Namecheap
| Tip | Detail |
|---|---|
| Panel | Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS |
Host @ | Means root domain |
| MX | Priority + value as shown |
| Confirm | Nameservers not parked elsewhere |
GoDaddy
| Tip | Detail |
|---|---|
| Panel | DNS management for the domain |
| Cleanup | Delete previous provider MX first |
| TXT | Add SPF/DKIM/DMARC carefully |
| Propagation | Sometimes slower UI refresh — check with external lookup |
