Domain Typo & Variant Generator
See the misspellings and variants you may want to protect.
How it works
See every misspelling of your domain, and who already owns them
Customers mistype domains in predictable ways: a dropped letter, two swapped, a neighbouring key, 'ph' for 'f', .co for .com, or www without the dot. This tool generates those variants for your domain, queries public DNS for each one in parallel to see which are already registered (a possible typosquat or competitor), and confirms the most valuable free ones against the registry with live prices so you can decide which to protect.
Results appear here after you click Generate variants.
How this works
- 1
Generate the variants
Dropped, swapped, doubled and adjacent-key letters, sound-alikes, plurals, hyphen changes, www-without-dot and extension swaps.
- 2
Query DNS in parallel
Each variant is resolved over DNS-over-HTTPS; names with nameservers are registered, NXDOMAIN names are free.
- 3
Confirm and price six
The free variants you care about most are checked against the registry through our search API with real prices.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a domain typo and why does it matter?
- A typo domain is a misspelling of your domain that a visitor types by mistake: a dropped letter, swapped letters, a nearby key or .co instead of .com. If someone else registers it they receive your lost traffic and, worse, email meant for you. Owning the most common ones and redirecting them closes that gap.
- Which typos should I buy first?
- Other extensions of your exact name (.co, .net, .org and your country code) catch the most traffic and cost the least. Then the single most common keyboard typo. Buying every variant is only worth it for brands with very high traffic or a history of phishing.
- How do I know if a variant is a typosquat?
- This tool shows which variants are registered. Use the WHOIS Lookup to see the registrar and dates, and visit the page in a private window. A parked page full of ads for your industry, or a copy of your login page, is a typosquat you should report to the registrar.
- Can I take a typo domain away from someone?
- If you have a trademark and the variant is being used in bad faith, the UDRP process can transfer it to you, but it costs more than most domains. Prevention is cheaper: register the key variants before launch.
- Does this check all possible misspellings?
- It generates the common classes (up to 60 variants) and checks all of them against DNS. Unusual typos and lookalike characters from other alphabets are covered by the Typosquat Scanner in our security tools.
